Star is the newest up and coming city in  the Boise Metro area.  Located in Ada County, neighboring Canyon County with an estimated poulation of 8,375  in 2016.  With growth comes change and so many great things are coming!  A brand new Middle School has been built and is opening with the fall 2018 school year.  And what town is complete with out a Dairy Queen?  That's right, we just got a Dairy Queen!  A new BiMart and Albertsons is also under way.   For events, people love to rent the Star Community Center or  the Star Barn as we call  it.   Makes for a beautiful setting!

 

Star has many outdoor recreational opportunities.  Being small, it still has the family friendly vibe with annual events like the Star Hometown Celebration-4th of July parade and fireworks.  Which is held at the new park or Hunters Creek Sports complex!  It is an 18 acre sports complex,  that  includes sports fields for adult and youth baseball and soccer, concession stands, plenty of picnic areas, and play equipment for the kiddos.  For the ones that like to scooter or skateboard, they have now added a new skate park.  Enjoy a monthly family movie night under the stars at Blake Park, just across from the Star Elementary School.  If you like to golf, enjoy a round or just hit a bucket of balls at the River Birch Golf  Course.  

Star River Park and walking path is a 4.76 acre park, that can be entered from Star Road and runs right along the Boise River. It's full of nature trails and benches to stop for a break along the way, Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the sound of the river while picnicking!  Let the kids throw in a line. 

Stop by Star Country Cafe for some delicious breakfast!  Or try El Mariachi Loco Restaurante for some great authentic Mexican food.  People say they have the best chips and salsa , great food and service!
