Life in Eagle, Idaho

Eagle has long been recognized as one of the most sought after residential areas in the Treasure Valley because of its small town atmosphere combined with a unique blend of educational and recreational opportunities available for residents.  Eagle residents describe their hometown as a great place to live and invest in their futures.

Education has long been identified as a great way to “invest in the future” whether it be for individuals, families or communities as a whole. K-12 public schools in Eagle are part of the West Ada School District which is the largest district in the state of Idaho providing families the ability to customize educational opportunities in the areas of math, science, health careers, technology and the arts.  Several charter schools and private schools in Eagle allow for further educational customization for families that prefer the Harbor Method, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or religious education for their students.  Looking for university or college level educational opportunities?   Eagle is just minutes away from the campuses of Boise State University, College of Idaho, College of Western Idaho and Northwest Nazarene University.   The University of Idaho and Idaho State University also have satellite campuses nearby as do a number of smaller institutions such as ITT Tech and Carrington College.

Eagle residents enjoy a vast variety of recreational adventures. The City of Eagle maintains a number of city parks that provide playgrounds, splash pads, walking paths, open fields, picnic shelters, fishing ponds plus access to the Boise River and Greenbelt.  A majority of Eagle neighborhoods include private parks, walking paths and ponds as well.  Eagle is also the home of the 545 acre Eagle Island State Park featuring a swimming beach, water slide, picnic area and expansive trail system.  In the foothills between Emmett and Eagle, there are miles of trails available for horseback riding, bike riding, hiking, trail riding or four wheeling.   If golf is your passion, less than 30 minutes away you will find the following golf courses: Banbury, Eagle Hills, Plantation, River Birch, Shadow Valley and Spur Wing. Within a 40 minute drive enjoy river/whitewater rafting/kayaking on the Payette or Boise Rivers, boating and fishing on Black Canyon or Lucky Peak Reservoirs and skiing at the Bogus Basin Ski Resort.  Idaho’s winery district is located just an hour south and the award winning Three Horse Ranch Vineyards and Tasting Room is minutes away. The recreational/resort areas of Cascade, Hells Canyon, McCall, Stanley, Sun Valley and Tamarack are located just a few hours away.

Eagle’s “small, hometown vibe” is what residents like most about living in Eagle!  This vibe is a culmination of neighborhood/city planning, exceptional schools, business opportunities, vast recreational potential and community events.  Community events that Eagle residents look forward to every year include: Eagle Saturday Market, Field of Honor, Eagle Fun Days, Eagle Golf Classic and Eagle Country Christmas.  These community events not only allow residents the occasion to gather together but they are also an opportunity to celebrate our heritage, artisans, local businesses, families and the heroes past, present and future who have made Eagle such a great place to live.
